So you’re looking to have a holiday party for your company, but don’t want to begin the preparations too late. Is a year ahead too early? Is a month out too late? Holiday parties are to be planned in advance in order to not only ensure guests are available for that day and time, but also to ensure ample time to book the vendors. Including the venue, catering/food, gathering décor, bar services, and so much more! A lot can go into this and it can become an event to remember if you plan it ahead of time and get all the details ironed out.
Beginning with what is too late. A month out is much too late to try and book a venue. You might get lucky on a date if there is an opening from a possible cancellation, or a new venue pops up. But if you are looking for a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening, you could very well be out of luck at that point. Then you may be best off hosting it at the office.
Now onto what might be considered too early. A full year out may seem too early. Unless the venue you want to host at is so popular that you’re afraid of losing the date altogether if you don’t act right away as the new year rings in. Ideally, you should look into booking your venue and catering about 6 months or so out from the date you are interested in booking for your company holiday party. A half a year is a good amount of time to be getting the date you want, and also ensuring those big vendors are locked in. With an ample amount of time, you should be set to be successful for your upcoming company holiday party!
