The Desenberg is a brand new wedding and events venue in downtown Kalamazoo, MI. This elegant and beautiful venue just opened its doors on October 4th, 2023. So it’s safe to say that most events booking close to open are those that are corporate or a smaller social gathering. As weddings tend to book a year or more out. However, The Desenberg did host a wedding as its very first event on November 11th, 2023. A memorable day for not only the bride and groom, but also the venue itself.
With a guest count of roughly 160, the venue was buzzing with excitement. Though The Desenberg houses 8’ rectangular tables for all events that book there, the couple decided to go another route and rent out round tables to better fit their desired vision. Their head table, however, did utilize The Desenberg’s rectangular tables and looked stunning centered in the main seating space. This wedding was simple, yet elegant and really showcased The Desenberg’s features and that of the couple’s vision.
Throughout the night, the mood continued to elevate as the celebration continued on. The Atrium, an add-on rental space, was equally brimming with happy guests as the space hosted the bar and additional areas to congregate. Slideshows of the couple’s photos played on all 5 of the tv’s situated in the Atrium, and the Gauzy glass wall in the main seating space of The Desenberg played a monogram and the couple’s last name on repeat throughout the night.
The Desenberg’s first wedding and event overall was a success and became wonderful feedback for those who helped put it on. It all really came together nicely and those at The Desenberg were elated to have this couple be the first of many to utilize the space. Here’s to more to come!
