Whether it’s a wedding, bridal shower, retirement party, or birthday, you should consider having a signature cocktail (or 2!). They’re great conversation starters when you meet someone new, or are in a lull and have no idea what to talk about. Similarly, having a signature cocktail can also save you money. If you decide to have them, consider having 2-3 to at least give guests a small choice in what they order.
A Conversation Piece
Having a signature cocktail can be a fantastic way to meet new people and really start up a conversation. When you’re at an event and know very few people there, it can be awkward. Especially if you want to chat with someone and have a good time. A good start always seems to involve a good beverage. If someone else grabs the same drink as you or another signature cocktail, that’s a great way to begin chatting with them. Talk about the drink itself, or its qualities. What they like about it, etc. Conversation should flow from there.

The ability to save some money is another great perk to having signature cocktails at your next event. By limiting the amount of different liquors and mixers you have to pay for, you’re saving money. If you want to only have 2 signature drinks, you can limit to 2 of the same or 2 different liquors and then you only have to pay for those rather than a full bar of options. This also allows guests to make quicker decisions on what they want to order, as there isn’t an overwhelming amount of options.
